In 2017, I was looking for a really amazing designer to help me create a national costume to wear at an international pageant in China. After seeing some of Jo’s amazing designs, I got in contact with her to ask for her help. I shared my ideas with her about what I wanted in the costume. We then came up with a stunning concept which Jo turned into the most amazing costume, Kaitiaki!
After wearing it in China I ended up placing 2nd runner up at the pageant. Then in 2018 I wore the same costume with a few adjustments at the Miss World New Zealand pageant. I was awarded with the prize for Best In National Costume as well as the overall title, Miss World New Zealand 2018.
Jo is an incredible designer and I want to say a special thank you to her for helping all of our pageant girls stand out on the national and international stage. At most international pageants, national costume is a very important section and having help from Jo has really made our girls stand out. I have never met a designer as amazing as her and we are so lucky!
